About the Event

Join us for an important and interactive virtual class geared for expectant families and newly minted parents!

Not knowing how to help when your baby is in distress can be one of the scariest things for a parent or caregiver. Join this crash course to arm yourself with skills that could save your baby's life. Recognize when a child needs breathing assistance and learn the important techniques to respond to a choking emergency in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Certified by the American Heart Association, Ashley Meves, RN, a registered nurse who previously practiced at CHOP's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, will lead this class with hands-on demonstrations of various rescue methods.

This workshop will equip you with the tools you need to feel prepared in emergency situations, with a specific focus on CPR and choking measures. In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How to perform CPR on an infant or child
  • How to use an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator)
  • How to recognize the signs of choking
  • How to handle emergencies

* Please note that this is not a certification course.
