EmmaWell was created by a unique group of individuals with a shared vision: to make maternal mental health and well-being accessible to all. Our team combines start-up energy, corporate discipline, and medical expertise with a passion for women’s health.
David is responsible for driving EmmaWell’s strategy, commercial activities, operations and product development.
Previously, David was Chief Revenue Officer at HeavyWater, an Artificial Intelligence Financial Technology startup, a VC focused on Series Seed and A financings at Safeguard, and a
strategy consultant at McKinsey.
David has a BA from Yale and an MBA from Wharton.
Dad of 2 daughters, who provided the inspiration for EmmaWell's name, and a Bichon mix. Practically all of the adult females in
David's life are OB-GYNs, which might explain his keen interest in maternal health!
Head of Content and Community
Copley is responsible for developing EmmaWell's digital content and fostering a community of moms and moms-to-be.
From New York to Washington, DC, to Philadelphia, she spent a
decade in digital media at esteemed organizations and businesses. While putting her career on pause to birth and raise a gaggle of children, she was unknowingly doing market research for EmmaWell!
Copley has a BA from Georgetown and an MS in Publishing from NYU.
Mom of 3 little clones and a Goldendoodle. When she's not on an outdoor adventure with her family, she can be found swapping war stories with veteran mom friends.
Chief Experience Officer
Viraj oversees patient care and experience across the EmmaWell platform. As our Maternal Concierge, Viraj can answer practically any question imaginable about pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood.
Viraj is a board-certified PA with 15 years of clinical experience in OB-GYN and a certificate in Maternal Mental Health. At Hatch Motherhood, she was the Education Director and provided maternal concierge services.
Viraj has a BS from Michigan and an MS from Rosalind Franklin.
Mom of 2 teenagers. In addition to tennis, yoga, and travel, Viraj loves to sing - so much that she performed a J-Lo song at her brother's wedding reception!
Head of Product and Operations
Wanda oversees product and operations at EmmaWell.
Most recently, Wanda was Head of Strategy and Operations at QuanticMind, a venture-backed Marketing Tech startup. She cut her teeth as an M&A investment banker and was an early-stage investor in enterprise tech startups, as well as an advisor to Femtech and Healthtech startups in the Bay Area.
Born and raised in Singapore, Wanda received her BA from Bryn Mawr College.
Wanda is solid "Funtie" material and mentors high school students. She sits on the BUILD Bay Area Associate Board.
Head of Strategic Growth
Catherine directs EmmaWell’s business growth, ensuring strategic relationships with employers and businesses to deliver increased value for our customers. In addition, Catherine drives the identification and development of new partnerships and customer offerings.
Catherine has focused her career on helping organizations achieve transformative growth, both broadening their reach and impact. Starting her career with Deloitte Consulting, Catherine pivoted after business school to pursue her passion for serving others as Director of Development at The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness.
Catherine has a BS from Penn State and an MBA from Harvard.
Mom of two little ones and a fun-loving chocolate lab, and doing her best to enjoy the toddler and baby days before they are gone. Catherine is soaking up the crazy that is family life right now, and staying sane one jog at a time.
Radhi provides medical oversight and helps us build healthcare provider relationships and optimize patient outcomes.
Radhi is a board-certified OB-GYN physician with over 20 years of experience and practices in the Philadelphia suburbs. In 2016 she founded Hatch Motherhood, a wellness center that provided perinatal fitness, support, and education to women.
Radhi received her MD from LSU in Shreveport and trained at UT Southwestern in Dallas.
Mom of 2 teens and a Goldendoodle. Always up for a challenge, she recently completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training.
The founder and president of the National Birth Equity Collaborative, Joia brings her passion for health equity to EmmaWell.
Joia previously served as Executive Director of the Birthing Project, Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Jefferson Community Healthcare Center, and Director of Clinical Services for the City of New Orleans' Health Department. Her most recent focus has been on maternal and child health at both the national and international levels.
After receiving her BS from Princeton and Xavier, she completed her medical degree at LSU and her residency in OB-GYN at Tulane.
Joia is married and has 3 children.
Having supported new moms and their babies throughout Philadelphia and the Main Line for over 25 years, Donna is excited to bring her passion and expertise to EmmaWell.
An IBCLC, Donna serves as Chair of the Main Line Health Lactation Committee and works on Paoli Hospital’s Maternity Unit, where she is famously known as “Boob Donna.”
In her role as an educator, Donna creates courses, instructs for the International Doula Institute, and travels to national conferences to speak on various topics. Donna previously worked as a private practice lactation consultant, labor doula, and postpartum doula.
Apart from her many professional roles, Donna’s devotion goes to her family, which includes two fabulous kids, one amazing son-in-law, and her supportive husband of over 30 years.
A pioneer in the field of maternal mental health. Karen established The Postpartum Stress Center in 1988 in Rosemont, PA. At EmmaWell, Karen’s role is to provide thought leadership, ensure continued quality of care, and supervise the Clinical Director.
Karen received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois and has been practicing clinical social work ever since. In addition to her work at The Postpartum Stress Center, she developed and teaches a professional training course for clinicians interested in specializing in the treatment of postpartum distress.
Today, Karen is internationally renowned for her work within the mental health community. She has authored several groundbreaking books on the subject and makes frequent appearances in national TV programs, radio shows, and health podcasts and websites.
Samir is the CEO of Genoa Telepsychiatry. Genoa Telepsychiatry improves access to psychiatry for underserved communities, through a team of 500+ clinicians treating patients in all 50 states. Genoa was acquired by UnitedHealth Group (through its Optum business) in September 2018, as the nation's largest provider of telepsychiatry services.
Samir has been co-founder of two Healthcare IT startups, 1DocWay, a telepsychiatry company, and ZipCare, a non-emergency medical transportation company. He is also sits on the board of directors of CenterPointe Hospital. Samir is a former McKinsey consultant and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and The Wharton School (MBA).
Alinne is a licensed clinical psychologist, Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University, and Associate Director at the Institute for International Internet Interventions for Health. Her work is focused on depression prevention, intervention adaptations, and the use of technology to deliver maternal mental health resources.
Her work with EmmaWell is focused on our Circles, a psychoeducation group series based on the Mothers and Babies Online Course. During the past 15 years, Alinne has dedicated her research to adapting and testing versions of the Mothers and Babies Course, a preventative intervention for postpartum depression recognized by the USPSTF.
Alinne is a Board Member of 2020 Mom and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Latinx Psychology. She completed her BS at UC Berkeley, her PhD at the University of Colorado, and her postdoctoral fellowship at UC San Francisco.
Tim is a healthcare executive with over 30 years of health plan experience, including clinical, behavioral health and healthcare delivery system innovation on behalf of Fortune 500 multi-national and US national companies globally and domestically.
Tim is a national subject matter expert on Behavioral Health Digital/Technology Innovation, Clinical and Commercialization Strategy. He has held executive level postions with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Rhode Island most recently was Senior Vice President with Optum Behavioral Health.
He has an undergraduate degree from Stetson University in Deland, FL, a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford.
Ashley is a registered nurse and CPR Instructor with experience in neonatal intensive care.
Ashley has an unyielding passion to care for newborn children and help their families through challenging times. She is highly motivated by the dynamic and collaborative environment that EmmaWell offers.
Ashley graduated from Penn State in 2008 with a degree in Biobehavioral Health and then received her BSN from Drexel in 2010.
Ashley grew up in Downingtown and currently resides in Havertown, PA with her husband and their 3 children. Her personal interests include spending time at the beach, traveling, sewing, and fashion.
Michele is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with Penn Ob/Gyn and Midwifery Care and delivers at Pennsylvania Hospital.
She received her BSN at Drexel University in 2008 and then completed her MSN at Philadelphia University. She received her Nurse Midwifery certification in 2013.
Michele is very passionate about providing the best care for her patients and loves to provide the much-needed education and support they need.
She is also a devoted wife and mother to her 6-year-old son.
Ann Marie is an experienced pediatric sleep consultant and founder of AM Smiles Sleep Training.
She has helped hundreds of tired parents improve their little ones' sleep through customized planning.
Ann Marie received her BSEd in Elementary Education and MSEd in Special Education from West Chester University. She has over seven years of experience as a sleep training consultant.
Ann Marie lives in Haverford, PA with her husband and 3 boys.
Lang Ngov is a physical therapist (PT) with a special interest in the prevention of diastasis recti
After graduating from UConn in 2003, she moved to CA to start her career as a PT. With the support of several amazing mentors, she completed a residency in the world-renowned Vallejo PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) program.
Lang is one of six physical therapists in the state of PA who is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT). She is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist as well as a certified Pilates instructor. Lang was given a grant for her research on the prevention of diastasis recti in pregnant women.
After the birth of her daughter in 2016, she moved back to the Philadelphia area to be closer to family.
Randi has spent over 20 years as a child advocate, yoga teacher, and doula. These passions reflect in her prenatal and postpartum classes.
Randi’s work on the pain management team as a therapist at Children’s Hospital has given her a deep understanding of the hospital environment and expertise in dealing with such discomfort. Her Master's from NYU in Drama Therapy has built her foundation in creatively addressing mental health and relationship needs.
As a teacher, she hopes to break down barriers to accessing yoga instruction and quality prenatal and postpartum care. Randi speaks to the discrepancies our system of class and race has had on birth and advocates for all families. 10% of her teaching profits go to the Black Mamas Matter Alliance and the Maternity Care Coalition.
