Jenny Starosta, PhD
Jenny is a psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with families and their children, especially those families who have children with special needs such as premature birth, medical needs, developmental delays, and trauma.
Jenny takes a warm and compassionate approach to help you feel more secure and capable of facing your challenges and coping with what life has presented you, especially if it is not what you hoped for. She understands the deep emotional investment that comes with “family,” in whatever form your family looks like and she can work with you to navigate the complex challenges that occur.
Jenny's expertise is in behavioral health issues, anxiety, and depression, with a focus on CBT, family systems, and trauma-informed approaches. She works with individuals and couples on addressing mood and anxiety disorders, trauma or grief, and parenting issues. Jenny is also trained in EMDR Level 1 techniques.
Jenny earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Temple University and is licensed to practice in PA and NJ. She has an additional certification in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders as well as Pregnancy Grief and Loss. In addition to EmmaWell, Jenny is affiliated with Whole Heart Maternal Mental Health located in Philadelphia.
A licensed clinical social worker, Sarah maintains a private psychotherapy practice where she supports adult clients through individual and group counseling. She specializes in helping clients heal from acute and complex trauma and perinatal mental health concerns-including perinatal mood disorders, infertility, loss and the ongoing journey of parenthood. Sarah is also trained in EMDR, a holistic, gentle, and effective intervention for the treatment of trauma.
Sarah earned her Masters of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Worker & Social Research and holds dual bachelors degrees from Barnard College and the Jewish Theological Seminary. In addition to her private practice work, Sarah works part-time as a family life education associate at Jewish Family & Children's Service of Greater Philadelphia.
Sarah approaches her work with new parents understanding that many enter parenthood with expectations that this time in their life will be simply joyous, and often the process does not match expectations. She is passionate about helping her clients move from a place of struggle towards empowerment and find their way towards life as a parent with more contentment and confidence.
April Robinson, MSEd, NCC
April is a nationally certified counselor with a certificate in perinatal mental health. Her primary areas of expertise are depression and anxiety disorders, life transitions, identity development, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and women's issues including maternal mental health issues.
April provides a space dedicated to encouraging the wellness of individuals. Specifically specializing in marginalized groups, she places a strong emphasis on co-creating an environment where clients feel safe, supported, and challenged to become the best versions of themselves in a world that may feel isolating.
April earned her BS from West Chester University and went on to receive her Master's degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. She is also a certified Pre-K to 12th-grade school counselor.
April completed specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International. In addition to EmmaWell, April is affiliated with Whole Heart Maternal Mental Health located in Philadelphia.
Lauren is a psychologist, licensed social worker, and yoga therapist. Her specialties include trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief/loss, life transitions, and parenting and relationship concerns.
Lauren offers a compassionate, empowering approach to help her clients manage distress and make sense of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. She views mental health holistically and often incorporates mindfulness and mind-body techniques into therapy.
Lauren possesses a deep understanding that the journey to parenthood can be overwhelming and uncertain, and many expectant and new parents feel isolated as they struggle to adjust to their changing roles. She believes that connection is a crucial part of healing and is dedicated to creating a space in which her clients feel safe, understood, and supported.
Lauren earned her PhD in psychology from the University of California, San Diego and her Master of Social Work and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and has specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International. In addition to EmmaWell, Lauren is affiliated with Well-Being Center, a holistic psychotherapy and wellness practice on the Main Line.

- Baby Feeding -
EmmaWell works with certified lactation consultants who are highly-trained IBCLCs dedicated to supporting breastfeeding people and helping them overcome any baby-feeding challenge.
Amy has been an IBCLC for over 10 years, with extensive experience in teaching and leading breastfeeding support groups.
After starting out in elementary education, Amy turned to lactation consulting in a hospital setting. Since then, she has worked both as the V.P of Education and a breastfeeding counselor for the Nursing Mothers Alliance and as an IBCLC at local hospitals in Chester County.
Amy now works with her private clients in the Philadelphia area and part-time with clients at Lifecycle Womancare in Bryn Mawr, PA. She is also a TummyTime!™ Trained Professional and a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM). She has enjoyed integrating these skills into her lactation practice and teaching workshops in the community.
Amy lives in King of Prussia, PA with her husband, 2 teenagers, and Goldendoodle. She enjoys yoga and long walks with her dog.
As a dedicated International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, Kristin has a strong clinical background working with postpartum patients and their babies. She has a keen interest in the prenatal care of moms, the impact of the birth experience, and the effects of breastfeeding success.
After earning her B.A. in Clinical Sociology, Kristin spent years working with families as a case manager and counselor prior to becoming an IBCLC. Kristin served as V.P. of Education on the board of the Nursing Mothers Alliance and recently joined the Pro-LC board, serving as Sergeant at Arms. She currently works in private practice as a lactation consultant in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Kristin lives in Phoenixville, PA with her husband and their four children.
