Check your baby's 3-month milestones.

Month 3

By the time your baby is three months old, he or she will have made a dramatic transformation from a totally dependent newborn to an active and responsive infant.

Your baby will lose many of his or her newborn reflexes while acquiring more voluntary control of his or her body.

You might find your baby spending hours inspecting his or her hands and watching their movements.

Start tummy time with your baby.

Month 3

Tummy time is placing your baby on his or her stomach to play.

Practicing tummy time helps babies develop the muscles necessary to lift their heads and, eventually, to sit up, crawl, and walk.

Encourage your baby to work up to about 15 minutes total tummy time every day (or two to three sessions a day lasting three to five minutes each), always under your watchful eye.

The ideal time of day to do tummy time is after your baby wakes up from a nap or following a diaper change.

Where will I be able to pump at work?

Month 3

The federal Break Time for Nursing Mothers law requires employers covered under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) to provide basic accommodations for breastfeeding mothers at work until their baby's first birthday.

These accommodations include:
• Time for women to express milk (not necessarily paid time)
• A private space that is not a bathroom each time they need to pump
