Mental Health

EmmaWell works with compassionate therapists specializing in maternal mental health to provide virtual therapy and support for pregnant and postpartum people.

A licensed clinical social worker, Sarah maintains a private psychotherapy practice where she supports adult clients through individual and group counseling. She specializes in helping clients heal from acute and complex trauma and perinatal mental health concerns-including perinatal mood disorders, infertility, loss and the ongoing journey of parenthood. Sarah is also trained in EMDR, a holistic, gentle, and effective intervention for the treatment of trauma.

Sarah earned her Masters of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Worker & Social Research and holds dual bachelors degrees from Barnard College and the Jewish Theological Seminary. In addition to her private practice work, Sarah works part-time as a family life education associate at Jewish Family & Children's Service of Greater Philadelphia.

Sarah approaches her work with new parents understanding that many enter parenthood with expectations that this time in their life will be simply joyous, and often the process does not match expectations. She is passionate about helping her clients move from a place of struggle towards empowerment and find their way towards life as a parent with more contentment and confidence.

Lauren is a psychologist, licensed social worker, and yoga therapist. Her specialties include trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief/loss, life transitions, and parenting and relationship concerns. Lauren offers a compassionate, empowering approach to help her clients manage distress and make sense of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. She views mental health holistically and often incorporates mindfulness and mind-body techniques into therapy.

Lauren possesses a deep understanding that the journey to parenthood can be overwhelming and uncertain, and many expectant and new parents feel isolated as they struggle to adjust to their changing roles. She believes that connection is a crucial part of healing and is dedicated to creating a space in which her clients feel safe, understood, and supported.

Lauren earned her PhD in psychology from the University of California, San Diego and her Master of Social Work and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and has specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International. In addition to EmmaWell, Lauren is affiliated with Well-Being Center, a holistic psychotherapy and wellness practice on the Main Line.
